Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between Dentek, LLC ("Dentek," "we," "us," or "our") and you ("you," "Customer," or "User") governing your access to and use of the Practice Composition Index service at pci.team and app.pci.team (the "Service"). By creating an account, making a purchase, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms, individually or on behalf of an organization.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account, as the Service uses magic-link authentication tied to your email.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it updated.
- If you register on behalf of a dental practice or organization, you represent that you are authorized to do so and to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Plans, fees, and payment
2.1 Plans
- Individual — a one-time payment of $29 for a single Practice Composition Index assessment and result profile.
- Practice — a one-time setup fee of $99 plus a recurring monthly subscription of $29 for up to 50 team and candidate seats, along with practice-level composition, coaching, and pipeline tools.
Current pricing is shown on pci.team. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice.
2.2 Billing
- Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. By providing a payment method, you authorize us (and Stripe) to charge you for the fees applicable to the plan you selected.
- Practice subscriptions automatically renew each month until canceled. You can cancel at any time from your account billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- All fees are stated in U.S. dollars and are exclusive of applicable taxes, which are your responsibility unless we are required by law to collect them.
- Fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in these Terms or required by law.
2.3 Refunds
All sales are final. The Service is a digital product, and we do not offer refunds on initial purchases or on monthly subscription renewals. You may cancel a Practice subscription at any time from your account billing page to prevent future charges; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. If you believe there has been a billing error, contact us at hello@pci.team and we will review it in good faith.
2.4 Failed payments
If a payment fails, we may suspend access to the Practice plan until payment is restored. Assessment history and past results will be preserved during suspension.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to make employment, hiring, firing, promotion, discipline, or compensation decisions in a way that violates applicable employment, anti-discrimination, or privacy laws. PCI is a trait-fit and coaching tool, not a diagnostic, medical, or pass/fail hiring instrument.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying source code, models, or algorithms of the Service, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as a service bureau or public-facing product, without a written agreement with us.
- Submit content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, infringing, or violates the privacy or rights of others.
- Upload malicious code, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, circumvent rate limits, or interfere with the Service's operation.
- Use the Service to impersonate another person or to take an assessment on behalf of someone else without their knowing and genuine consent.
- Use automated scraping, crawling, or bulk data-extraction tools against the Service.
4. Your data and privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant Dentek a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, display, and analyze your content strictly to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to provide it to you.
For practice team assessments, the subject's consent is captured at the start of each assessment. Practice owners and managers see trait profiles, archetype matches, and role-fit summaries — they do not see individual adjective-level responses.
5. Assessment content and results
- Assessment results (trait scores, archetype matches, role-fit percentages, coaching notes, and related reports) are provided for informational, coaching, and self-awareness purposes. They are not psychological diagnoses, medical advice, or employment-decision guarantees.
- You agree to use results in a manner consistent with good management practice, applicable law, and the subject's dignity.
- We may update the underlying archetypes, scoring model, and reports from time to time to improve accuracy and clarity. Historical reports remain accessible but may reflect the model version in effect at the time they were generated.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including all text, graphics, reports, archetype library, trait definitions, scoring methodology, and software, is the intellectual property of Dentek or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. "Practice Composition Index" and "PCI" are trademarks of Dentek. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service solely for your internal use in accordance with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that feedback without restriction.
7. Confidentiality
Each party agrees to use reasonable care to protect the other party's confidential information from unauthorized disclosure and to use it only for purposes of performing under these Terms. Confidential information does not include information that is publicly available, independently developed, or lawfully obtained from a third party without confidentiality obligations.
8. Term and termination
- These Terms remain in effect while you use the Service.
- You may stop using the Service at any time. For Practice subscriptions, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if we believe you are violating these Terms, harming other users, or creating legal or security risk.
- Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. We will retain data as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export or request deletion of your data by contacting us.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including Sections on intellectual property, warranty disclaimer, liability, indemnity, and governing law).
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, DENTEK DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY ARISING OUT OF COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ASSESSMENT RESULTS WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR BUSINESS OR EMPLOYMENT OUTCOME.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DENTEK AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUES, LOST DATA, OR LOST GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dentek and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your content or data, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or the rights of any third party, including any employment-law claim arising from how you used PCI results.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, U.S.A., without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. You and we each waive the right to a jury trial to the extent permitted by law.
13. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the documents they reference are the entire agreement between you and Dentek regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- Notices. We may provide notices by email to the address on your account or by posting in the Service. Notices to us should be sent to hello@pci.team.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or by prominent notice within the Service, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
